What’s in a name?
Every business needs a logo to identify themselves but how do you decide what kind of logo best suits your needs? One of the biggest mistakes people make when going into business for the first time is attempting to design their own logo instead of getting one professionally done for them. Logos do not need to be complex to be effective but a home-made logo usually gives the impression of your business being unorganized, sort of like showing up for a job interview in track pants! First impressions mean a lot to someone who doesn’t know you from amongst your competition.
Logo design is less about art and more about knowing how your customer base will perceive you!
Does your logo uniquely identify your name with the type of work you do?
Does your logo impart confidence at a glance to a potential customer?
Will your logo be easy to read at various distances?
In many cases over-designing a logo is not a good thing for new businesses. Having a full-colour, photographic logo may be impressive and eye-catching but can also make signage, printing, stationery and ads more expensive. However with the costs of large format digital printing getting less expensive it is becoming more and more attractive for small businesses who want to compete with the larger chains so it’s a good idea to have a logo that translates well from black & white to full colour.
At Xtreme we do our best to work with you by applying our design knowledge and experience with your vision to come up with the best possible logo that represents you!
