What sets apart your image from your competition’s can often be a first and lasting impression which in many cases happens right when you hand over your business card.  Sure you can print off a few at a time for them on your home printer but the result is usually quite obvious and can leave a somewhat negative impression as they run their fingers along the perforated edges and bend the lightweight paper.  Designing your own card might save you a few bucks too but it makes more sense to let a designer do the designing just as you would encourage your customers to use a professional instead of attempting a job themselves.
